What changes the price
- Vehicle type: classic UMM and Defenders are mid-priced. Open-top jeeps add €5-15 per person. Photographer-grade vehicles (Land Rover Defender 110 Td5) are private-tour-only.
- Group size: private charters split fixed-cost. Splitting 4 ways vs 2 ways changes per-person price by 50%.
- Inclusions: "with lunch" runs €10-15 more. Drinks usually included; entrance fees (Cabo Girão skywalk €2-3, Porto Moniz pools €3) usually separate.
- Season: Jul-Aug is peak — book 4-5 days ahead. Apr-May + Sep-Oct often the same operators 10-15% cheaper.
- Booking channel: direct operator usually €5-10 cheaper than GetYourGuide/Viator. Aggregators are worth it for cancellation flexibility.
Hidden costs
